Transferring Your MarketLink Device's Cellular Service to a Personal Wireless Account

You may have received notification that the cellular service provided for your MarketLink device is expiring soon, or there may be extenuating circumstances that require you to accept billing responsibility for your MarketLink device's cellular service before your contract is up.

We are sure that you want to make the transition of your MarketLink device's cellular service to your personal account as easy as possible.

AT&T

Refer to the Transfer Billing Responsibility article at the AT&T support site for more information.

 

If you already have an existing AT&T wireless account

Note:  This section assumes that both your MarketLink and personal devices' cellular service is provided by AT&T.  If that is not the case, then please refer to the "If you need to switch carriers" section below.

If you already have a pre-existing wireless account with AT&T, transferring billing responsibility for your MarketLink device's cellular service will be a simple process that you can do online or over the phone.  Follow the steps below to transfer service to your personal account.

Online

  1. Email our Support Team to request a Transfer of Billing Responsibility.  Please allow our Support Team 2 business days to process your request.
  2. Check your registered email address for instructions from AT&T to accept billing responsibility for your MarketLink device's cellular service.
  3. Follow the instructions in that email to complete the Transfer of Billing Responsibility.

Please contact our Support Team by phone if you have NOT received instructions from AT&T to accept billing responsibility for your MarketLink device's cellular service after 3 business days.

Over the Phone

Note:  You may be placed in direct contact with an AT&T customer support representative during the call.  When contacting our Support Team over the phone, please be prepared to accept billing responsibility at the time of your call.

If you do not have an existing AT&T wireless account

If you do NOT currently have an existing AT&T wireless account, you will need to open one before you can transfer your MarketLink device's cellular service.  Refer to the links below to shop online:

If you already have an existing Verizon Wireless account

Note:  This section assumes that both your MarketLink and personal devices' cellular service is provided by Verizon.  If that is not the case, then please refer to the "If you need to switch carriers" section below.

If you currently have a pre-existing wireless account with Verizon, transferring billing responsibility for your MarketLink device's cellular service will be a simple process that you can do online or over the phone.  Follow the steps below to transfer service to your personal account.

Online

  1. Email our Support Team to request a service transfer.  Please allow our Support Team 2 business days to process your request.
  2. Check your registered email address for confirmation that your service transfer request has been processed
  3. Call Verizon Support at (888) 832-4540 to complete the transfer process

 

Over the Phone

Note:  You may be placed in direct contact with a Verizon customer support representative during the call.  When contacting our Support Team over the phone, please be prepared to accept billing responsibility at the time of your call.

If you do not have an existing Verizon wireless account

If you do NOT currently have an existing Verizon wireless account, you will need to open one before you can transfer your MarketLink device's cellular service.  Refer to the links below to shop online:

 

 

If you need to switch carriers

If your MarketLink device's cellular service is not provided by the same carrier as your personal wireless account, then certain restrictions may apply.  Please read the following very carefully before requesting a transfer of cellular service for your MarketLink device.

  • You are unable to transfer cellular service from AT&T to Verizon.
  • You are able to transfer cellular service from Verizon to AT&T, but your device may need to be unlocked first.  If so, please contact our Support Team.  We are more than happy to contact Verizon on your behalf regarding your request to unlock your MarketLink device.

Note:  The carrier must approve your request to unlock your mobile device.  Our Support Team is unable to reverse a decision made by the carrier, nor is our Support Team able to directly grant your request to unlock a mobile device.

 

If you are transferring cellular service to a carrier other than AT&T or Verizon

Please contact your carrier of choice for information regarding transferring your MarketLink device's cellular service.

Please keep in mind that you may not be able to activate your MarketLink device with your chosen carrier.
